BEGINNERS CLASSES
Monday Evenings 6pm -9pm - Beginners sewing classes. £12 per week. Tea/coffee and cake available.
8/9/14 - Get to know your Sewing Machine: seams, hems, buttons and buttonholes, machine maintenance, advice on which machine to buy, make a pin cushion. All materials provided.
15/9/14 - Phone/Ipod/Glasses Case: with either a button or drawstring fastening. Bring off cuts of fabric plus lining fabric and wadding if required.
22/9/14 - Tote Bags: lined with a pocket, bring your own fabric/lining approximately ½ metre of each (oil cloth if you prefer).
29/9/14 - Cushion Covers: with either a zip or button fastening. Add piping or a sewn edge. Bring your own fabric approx. ½ metre per cushion cover plus zip/buttons and piping/binding if required.
6/10/14 and 13/10/14 - Make Do and Mend: Go through your wardrobe and bring in your unworn items. Either repair them or re-create them into fresh flattering garments you’ll love to wear. Bring them along, even if you’re not sure what to do with them.
20/10/14 - Make a Girls Dress: Let me know the size in advance so I can prepare the pattern. As it’s a winter dress, bring a heavier weight fabric like needle cord or denim. 1-2 metres depending on the size.
3/11/14 and 10/11/14 - Make an Advent Calendar or Advent Bunting: Bring your Christmas coloured fabric scraps/recycle an old garment, also bring binding if you’re making bunting.
17/11/14 and 24/11/14 - Make a Christmas Table Runner/Placemats and Coasters: Bring your Christmas coloured fabric wadding and binding.
1/12/14 – 15/12/14 - Make Christmas Decorations.
